Cooloola Coast Kart Club is an affiliated associate member of Karting Australia Ltd.
The Cooloola "Gympie Gold Race Track" was opened on the 12th November 2006. Since this time we have made many improvements to the facility and continue to do so as finances permit. Cooloola Coast Kart Club is a non profit organisation run by a very dedicated group of volunteer club members.
There are a number of events that the Cooloola Coast Kart Club hosts throughout the year, our race calendar and race information is available on this site and we welcome visitors to our events and there is no admission fee for the general public.
Our membership over the years has grown from just 20 drivers to now being over 160 licenced members, not including family members. Our members come from areas in South East Qld. Our Club is also home to Roadskills Driver Education where workshops are held for Learner motorbike riders on one Saturday each month.
Cooloola has a great reputation of hosting organised events with a friendly family oriented atmosphere. This is due to the dedication of a handful of members who work together planning the details of every meeting. We also have a great team of officials that travel to our club every meeting from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. It is for this reason that our officials and Club members have been praised many times on public karting forums and media around the country.
How to get into Karting
It may seem complicated but it does not need to be. Follow these steps to get started.
Come and Try
Why not dip your toe in the water? Come to one of our Come and Try sessions where you can drive a real racing kart and see if the speed andadrenaline rush is for you!
You think you have what it takes to put your hands on the 'Gympie Gold'! They call it the 'mini Mt Panorama'. Our circuit is 890 metres long by 8 metres wide and is approved by Karting Australia Ltd to conduct race events in both directions. The circuit features 10 corners, differing from fast to slow sections with both negative and positive camber. The track is unusual in that it is undulating, a feature that is not found in European karting cirtcuits. Track Inspections occur every year by an appointed Inspector and circuit inspections are conduced prior to each event by race day officials.
